Major publicly traded direct selling companies reported strong earnings during Q3, as booming sales in China and Asia lifted most firms to beat Wall Street estimates for the quarter. Earnings calls were dominated by questions from analysts about future plans in China and Asia and whether double-digit growth trends in those regions can be sustained long-term.
Avon Q3 Revenue Flat
The big message coming out of Avon’s Q3 earnings call: Turning the company around is going to take time. The cosmetics giant is undergoing a reboot after years of slumping sales, and reported break-even earnings for the third quarter. Even as the company focuses on boosting the representative count, the number of door-to-door salespersons selling the company’s cosmetics fell during the quarter.
